Austin Lara continues to experience record sales despite Victoria’s snap lockdowns.
Throughout the course of the pandemic, Victorians have adapted to a new way of life. With the increase in working from home and frequent lockdowns across metro Melbourne, many Melbournians are looking to move out of the city in favour of that sea or tree change.
Regional Victoria Sales on the Rise
According to the Valuer-General’s Guide to Property Values 2020 report, last year was one of the biggest years for Victoria’s property market, with an estimated $120.5bn in sales, $25bn of which came from regional deals. From this $25bn, a staggering $4.7bn was from sales in the City of Greater Geelong, just behind Melbourne with $4.86bn.
Land, in particular, has received a huge amount of interest during the pandemic and it’s on the rise, set to achieve record sales in 2021. According to Urban Developer, ‘[Victoria’s] land sales volumes across growth corridors have grown 10 per cent with more than 12,000 lots sold this year, compared to a total of 15,000 in 2020.’
These impressive results have continued into the second quarter of 2021. An overwhelming 96.1% of enquiries for Austin Lara were received during the May–July quarter.
